Parliamentarian Harin Fernando has challenged Minister of Public Security Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekera for an open debate on the statements made by the former with regard to the 2019 Easter attacks.
MP Fernando told reporters today that he had been summoned to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and had recorded a statement for nearly 5 hours over a previous statement he had made to the CID and not in connection to his revelation in the Parliament linked to the attacks.
Stating that it was a pure waste of time, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP challenged Minister Weerasekera for an open debate on the matter.
